• Login credentials
• Payment information
• Cookies
• Analytics data

How the Extension Works

The extension reads publicly available information from the currently active webpage to identify Shopify storefronts and display store-related information such as:

• Shopify platform detection
• Theme name (when publicly available)
• Theme version (when publicly available)
• Store language
• Store currency
• Shopify Hydrogen/Oxygen detection

All processing is performed locally within your browser.

No information is transmitted to external servers.

Data Sharing

Shopify Dev Inspector does not sell, share, or transfer any user data to third parties.

Permissions

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

activeTab

Used to inspect the currently active webpage after the user opens the extension.

scripting

Used to read publicly available Shopify information from the active webpage.

host_permissions

Required to inspect Shopify storefront information on websites that the user chooses to visit.

Third-Party Services

Shopify Dev Inspector does not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
